One of my favourite past projects, a cassette tape recorder based on one that I used to play with when I was little.
It was the first time that I had made something that included a removeable part, I was so nervous that I would find a huge mistake in the measurements when I came to assemble it all!
How cool is this?!

This works. And works well. Mix any cake mix with any can of soda and bake according to the box instructions and you have cake, or my favorite, cupcakes. I did chocolate with diet coke a few weeks ago and it was yummy. I also did a white cake mix with sprite and it was good as well. I can’t wait to try some more combos!
An entry into the Blown Covers weekly cover contest, themed “The Gays,” by writer and illustrator Ella German. The cover addresses the recent historic moment for marriage equality, also referencing Maurice Sendak, who had passed away the previous week. Though far from a gay rights activist, Sendak lived as an openly gay man with his partner of half a century. The two never had the opportunity to marry.
